HOLIDAY CLOSINGS  and TRAINING HOLIDAYS - 2011-2012

Federal law (5 U.S.C. 6103) establishes the following public holidays for Federal employees. Please note that most Federal employees work on a Mon through Fri schedule. For these employees, when a holiday falls on a non-workday -- Saturday or Sunday -- the holiday usually is observed on Mon (if the holiday falls on Sunday) or Fri (if the holiday falls on Saturday).

The Emergency Room is open on all holidays and training holidays.

Military Training Holidays - Limited Services are available.  Calling ahead is suggested: 845-938-5169

All Outpatient Clinics, Laboratory, Pharmacy and Radiology will be closed for Military Training Days, Training Holidays, and the holidays listed above. The Emergency Room will remain open.

Patients - Keller closings for Training Holidays (not Training Days) means that all clinics and departments are closed for normal business. Services offered are limited to those provided by the ER.

Military - Comp Time means that KACH is open for normal operations. A supervisor may grant a Comp Day off on the designated Comp Day if possible, but if it affects normal operations, another Comp Day should be granted.

A Special Pass will be approved per AR 600-8-10, para 5-29d and will be approved by the Company Commander. The Special Pass must be exhausted within 45 days of the specific Comp Day. This will allow KACH to remain open and give supervisors maximum flexibility for mission accomplishment.

Civilians - are encouraged to take leave on Training Days or come to work. Supervisors are to have meaningful work available for the employees who elect to work.

Although KACH is closed, certain individuals may be required to work on holidays in support of cadet activities. If so, supervisors are encouraged to compensate these individuals with alternative day(s) off.
