COMMANDERS CORNER
Commanders Message
This website is designed to introduce you to the West Point Dental Activity.
We’ve posted our mission and vision along with the services available to our
customers. You’re also able to browse the dental clinics within the DENTAC’s
“footprint”, visualize the doctors and their supporting staff, and understand
the available clinical services.
The West Point DENTAC consists of the headquarters element, located on the West
Point garrison, and four (4) dental treatment facilities. Saunders and Keller
Hospital Dental Clinics are at West Point, New York and there are clinics at
Fort Monmouth and Fort Dix, each located two to three hours from West Point in
New Jersey.
The West Point clinics’ mission is to provide high quality comprehensive dental
care to approximately 4,100 cadets attending the United States Military Academy
and the 1,500 active duty staff and faculty who support the institution. The
Fort Monmouth Dental Clinic provides quality care to 250 cadets from the United
States Military Academy Preparatory School and an active duty population of
approximately 1,000. Mills Dental Clinic at Fort Dix is utilized primarily to
ready deploying Soldiers during mobilization exercises and support integrated
Army Reserve and National Guard active duty Soldiers during training periods.
Additionally the Mills staff provides quality dental care to the 1,000 active
duty Soldiers permanently stationed in the area.
If you are being assigned to the West Point DENTAC you should receive a Welcome
Packet and phone call and/or letter from a sponsor. If this does not occur,
please contact our Personnel Action Center at (845) 938-7761 or Headquarters’
Executive Secretary at (845) 938-4212.
I encourage you to browse our website, get to know our outstanding staff and the
exceptional services they provide. On behalf of the West Point Dental Activity’s
officers, noncommissioned officers, enlisted Soldiers and civilian personnel, I
thank you for taking the time to get to know us. I solicit any comments or
suggestions to improve our facilities, staffing, or services. Please forward
those to me at Larry.Rothfuss@us.army.mil. It is important to learn how well we
are serving you.
Sincerely,
Larry G. Rothfuss
