Signing in procedures for newly arriving Soldiers:

*You are required to see S-1 as soon as possible the next business day if you sign in after duty hours.

When arriving to in-process at the S-1, please bring the following items:

1 copy of your PCS orders to include any amendments
Your DA Form 31, Request and Authority For Leave
Copy of your last evaluation report (Officers and NCO’s)
Competency Assessment Folder (CAF)/training certificates and PT card.

Army Lodging/Hotel Accommodations

Soldiers should plan to stay in temporary housing such as the Five Star Inn (lodging facility) or a local hotel, while either waiting for on post housing or locating housing off post. Reservations for the Five Star Inn may be made by telephoning 1-800-GO-ARMY1 or (845) 446-5943.

***You cannot request nor sign for on-post housing until you have in-processed post.
Incoming military personnel must in-process first through the HSO after signing in for duty with the Keller Army Community Hospital S-1 and in-processing with Military Personnel Division (MPD), Building 622.
***Please keep in mind that if you are not signed into Keller Army Community Hospital you will not be entitled to receive BAH entitlements for this location.
The HSO Office provides off-post housing assistance, referrals and information on the local area to military members and their Families and DOD civilians. HSO maintains lists of local community rental properties, as well as information on homes for purchase. Assistance is provided prior to or upon arrival to West Point. Appointments are suggested. Soldiers and DOD civilians searching for off-post housing may access the DOD sponsored Automated Housing Referral Network (AHRN) website at to obtain rental listings for single family homes, townhouses, condos and apartments in the West Point area. Landlords and property managers can register and list their rentals free of charge on the AHRN site at HSO can also assist Soldiers with landlord/tenant issues and lease review
You MUST see the Housing Office on the FIRST day of your Permissive TDY (PTDY), or the next duty day following if on a weekend or holiday, to sign out on PTDY and get the Housing stamp on your DA Form 31 (Leave Form). Failure to do so will result in being charged for leave as opposed to PTDY.
If you do not have Permissive TDY (for house hunting) approved by your losing command, you can request it through the chain of command here upon arrival. You MUST sign in with the Keller Army Community Hospital S-1 before you can request this.

Single Soldiers, Sergeant and below, are required to live in the Single Soldiers Barracks, Bldg 624, Single Soldiers, Sergeant and below, are required to in-process with the Single Soldier Housing Office located in Bldg 652, Room 101. Your sponsor will assist you with obtaining a room and in-processing this department.
